In my case I was able to install MySQL via XAMPP on Windows. 1)I wanted to use MySQL to generate a MySQL/Apache2 database. 2) I wanted to try a more mature GUI application to install/run a MySQL/Apache2 setup. 3) I wanted to remove MySQL and Apache2 from my system after the MySQLSetup is completed. This all worked fine on my Windows 8.1 pc. MySQLClient++ is a set of classes and the API that can be used to communicate with the MySQL server. The purpose of the API is to provide the basic set of communication and transaction primitives that are needed to make an application or library communicate with a MySQL server. This is particularly important for applications that need to create a generic client that can be used for multiple databases. This package contains the source code of all classes except the MySqlXML_API. The MySqlXML_API can be found in the MySqlXML_API_SRC.tar.gz file which can be found in the src folder. To install: - Extract the archive and copy the files you need to the destination folder. Remarks: This package contains both header files and DLLs. The header files are required when you want to link against the DLLs that are provided in this package. If you want to use the DLLs, you will need to copy the DLLs to the directory that contains the header files. This package contains the following DLLs: libmysql.dll (required to use the MySQL API classes) libmysql_r.dll libmysqlcppconn.dll libmysqludf_r.dll libm_r.dll libmixed_r.dll libmysql_r.lib libmysql_r.dll.a libmysqludf_r.lib libm_r.lib libmysqlcppconn.lib &n 972550f159
